Voices of Hope DVD Project

Voices of Hope is a DVD designed to reach out to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.  The time of diagnosis is the most terrifying moment, a time of isolation and despair.  A newly Diagnosed woman leaves her physician's office armed with a bag full of pamphlets, booklets and brochures, a fist full of appointments, and a heart full of shock and fear.  Until the huge emotional challenge is addressed, it is extremely difficult to comprehend written material and to engage in thoughtful decision - making.  Women who receive the DVD will navigate the early weeks of a breast cancer diagnosis with a much greater sense of calm, hope and empowerment after having dealt with the emotional challenges first.  Playing a DVD that has been handed to you by a trusted medical professional is not as difficult as sifting through a pile of written material searching for the hope you need.  Some of the content deals with women's actual bodies to show post operative results both with and without reconstruction. Read More

Voices of Hope to San Diego

October 24 - 27th, 2010 Voices of Hope will be presenting at the 2010 International Cancer Patient Education Conference in San Diego, CA. This conference is the Joint Annual Meeting for AACE, CPEN and EACE. A three minute excerpt of the DVD will be shown followed by a podium presentation given by Diane Davies and Marisha Chamberlain. An exhibit featuring Voices of Hope where the DVD will be shown in its entirety will be staffed by Claire Mathews. A complimentary copy of Voices of Hope along with ordering information will be given to each registered conference participant that visits the booth.
